Nepal Earthquake SITREPS
Received this info from a local EMCOMM group in PA:
I’ve been monitoring the traffic on WebSDR. 20 meters. I can only find USB so far.
14.205 is emergency traffic and coordination.
14.23 or 14.235 or 14.215 is for health/welfare and volunteers (depending on QRM).
I do know that there are only a few registered/active operators in Nepal. The last I saw the only VHF/UHF repeater is down and that there was only one operator who could get on the air using battery and solar chargers. With the weather overcast he has not been able to recharge for the last two days. I understand that 95 % of Nepal is without power.
I did hear late Sat night that the operators who would normally be running the net were involved in the event so others have had to jump in.
Hopefully once they get some boots on the ground with radios they will have better comms in the area.
